Question-1: What happens to all the food that you eat?

Solution: All the food that is eaten by us is not really used. Only a part of it is utilized by our body. The rest is removed as wastes by our body. The process of getting rid of the wastes of our body is known as excretion. The part of food that is utilized is used for various processes like growth, repair etc.

Question-2: Write about some common aquatic habitats.

Solution: 1. Oceans- Sea animals have streamlined bodies which help them to move easily in water. They also have gills which enable them to use oxygen that is dissolved in water. Dolphins and whales have nostrils or blowholes as these organisms come out of water from time to time to breathe in air.
2. Ponds and lakes- The plants in these habitats have reduced roots and have long, hollow stems. Some aquatic plants are completely submerged in water. They have narrow, thin ribbon like leaves. Frogs live in ponds as well as on land. They have strong back legs that help them in leaping and catching their prey. They even have webbed feet to help them swim in water.

Question-3: Give three examples of response to stimuli.

Solution: 1) Watering of mouth when we see delicious food.
2) Closing of eyes when we see anything coming towards it.
3) Moving our hands away on touching a hot object.
