The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched an online portal, for the first time, for inviting applications from the principals and teachers across the schools for the CBSE awards 2017-2018. The registration process had commenced from June 29, 2018. However, the objective of the new online application method is quite clear and a transparency is maintained throughout the process. Besides, the selection method would be executed by focusing on the teachers’ academic interest, individual contribution, commitment towards education, along with the reputation in the community.
This time, the number of awards have increased from 34 to 48 and 5 awards are designed for the principals and the rest numbers are for the primary, secondary and senior secondary subject teachers. Apart from the position of the regular teachers, 10 awards are earmarked for the school counsellors, special educators, performing arts, vocational subjects, physical education and IT teachers.
CBSE has decided some points and based on that the National Level Screening Committee at the CBSE headquarter would execute the entire selection process.
